Tuesday Evening 3* Ride | 3* |
---|
Leader:John Talbot |
Start Time:6:30 pm |
Start Location:OMH |
Description:Weekly 1.5 - 2 hours at a riding pace of 20-24km/h (13-15mph). May be hilly.I was looking at the roads I've cycled in 2014 and unbelievably I've not been up White Horse Hill this year yet. So it's time to put that right We'll take diversions from the springline road to warm up on Windmill and Hackpen hills before the main event. And then we'll have a flat fast return via Uffington, Baulking, Goosey and Denchworth. 38km total. |

Karen T wasn't feeling too good so headed back at this point. We all took Hackpen at our own pace before the fast descent to Sparsholt. Janet caught us up at some point on the way to Dragon Hill as she had waited for us in Letcombe which we didn't go through! The road to the White Horse is a classic climb with great views and a pretty steady gradient. After regrouping at the top and taking a few photos we descended to Woolstone and Uffington. A stonking tailwind led to a spirited ride through Baulking and to the A-road. The usual route through Goosey and Denchworth took us back to Grove. The ride took the predicted 2 hours and was well disciplined. Well done everybody and an extra special mention to Andy P for sweeping, awesome job | ||
