Description:This is a 2* ride, covering 45-55km including a tea stop. Returning via Fernham, Baulking, Goosey, and Denchworth. |

To get round this little dilemma I decided to head the ride initialy in a Southerly direction and through the Letcombe Villages, rather than the obligatory Denchworth Goosey trail. The countryside was really at it's most lovely, with the trees in transition from green to Autumn gold. With hardly a breeze we were able to make good time with ease, and arrived at Faringdon at 3.00pm for tea. The coffee shop had set aside a table for us inside, but the glorious weather persuaded us to make the best of it and share a couple of tables outside overlooking the market square. It was very tempting to extend the homeward route, but I was aware that it would have pushed us significantly passed the 55km guideline for a Saturday leisure ride. Following a brief ascent and swoop down to Fernham, all that remained was a very gentle pedal home with glorious views of the Vale for company, illuminated by the low Autumn sun !.... Thanks for you company ! Glen S | ||
